Everyone seemed to really enjoy my list of the top 5 crafting tools for beginners a couple months ago! I hope it was able to help you figure out where to start :)
This week I have a list to take your crafting to the next level with 5 more of my favorite craft tools!
This embossing heat tool is such a game changer. It has taken so many of my stationary card projects to the next level with beautiful detail. Some of my favorite accessories with the heat tool is the Versamark stamp pad which is like a clear ink that holds onto whichever color embossing powder you add on top of it. My favorite embossing powder is the gorgeous gold by Ranger. It's the best quality of all of the embossing powders I've tried.
I've found a lot of uses for this circle punch. I think either 2.5 inches or 3 inches is a great size. I've used it to create smaller banners, flower details (punch multiple circles and attach them together in a circle/spiral), and punching out photos or patterned scrapbook paper for added detail. There are so many possibilities with these punches and they come in so many sizes which is great for versatility!
This. Tool. Is. Amazing!! You can make multiple sized triangle, flag, or crest banner shapes and it even has a tool for a hole punch to create holes to put ribbon or twine to hang your banner. This banner punch board seriously reduces the time it takes to create a personalized banner - I've made so many 10 minute banners with just paper and letter stickers! Birthday banners, bridal shower banners, theme party banners - you name an event, you can make a super cool, and fast, personalized banner using this tool!
4. Rotary Cutter Skip Blade
In my top 5 tools for beginning crafters post, I mentioned a rotary cutter as a "must need" tool. An additional tool/accessory to take it to the next level is the skip blade. This blade will cut a perforated line which is awesome if you're looking to add a "tear off" portion of a craft! I used this blade in a coupon book I made for my husband as a gift for Valentine's day this year and it added the perfect detail that made it a real booklet!
5. Washi Tape
If you don't already have some washi tape, now is the time to join the world of wonderful washi tape! (I love a good alliteration) Both Hobby Lobby and Michaels have a wide selection of so many different colors and patterns. Washi tape can be used to add a small detail (I like to add a piece over the envelope seal) as well as take craft project to the next level with a cute detail.
And there you have it - 5 craft tools that will definitely take your projects to the next level! These tools definitely have changed the way I craft and in some cases saved me time!
Are you currently using any of these tools? Are there projects you'd like to see me create using these tools? Let me know in the comments or feel free to find me on Instagram or Facebook and let me know there!
See you next Wednesday!
